Get your FANMAIL on!!! Address List for 60+ Walking Dead Characters!!

Monday, June 24, 2013 | 1 comments

Dear Deadry,

While I have never written a fan mail letter in my 41 years of life, my extreme addiction to The Walking Dead has now brought me to that place of realizing I must now write some letters!

I have started compiling a list of all the Actors/Actresses from The Walking Dead. Right now I have 80+ Characters on my list with 60+ with contact information so far. I will keep updating this list as I locate or hear of contact info for those unknown at this time.

I will also be working on a list for the amazing Staff, and Walkers to!!!

While I am a definite fan mail virgin at this time, so to speak I have noticed that common protocol seems to be;

  • Be Patient! It can take some time to get a response.
  • Always include what ever item you want signed with specific details on to whom etc..
  • Some do not sign index cards and limit to one item signed
  • Always include SASE, return packaging/envelope with correct postage.
**I have included personal fan mail specifics where it was noted by said actor/actress**

Top 10 things I don't understand/want to see on The Walking Dead!

Friday, June 21, 2013 | 0 comments

Dear Deadry,

While I absolutely love The Walking Dead there are some things I just do not understand or would really like to see!

1. GIVE US MORE & TERRIFY US!

Where are the Walkers and why are they just not scary? Being as Walkers are the imminent threat there should be more of them around and they should be terrifying! It seems through the Seasons there are less of them and they are in comparison to others I have seen in Movies/TV like puppies and unicorns. They do not have to have a huge fight every time but more "herds" coming around and keeping the fear alive would be fantastic! They are promising to amp it up so I hope they do so I can feel the fear, be terrified and on the edge of my seat!

“We’re going to amp up the threat of the walkers, because they’ve started to seem like a manageable threat. They are not a manageable threat,” producer Gale Anne Hurd

2. CAN WE GET SOME BACKSTORY PLEASE!

While they have given some actual visual flashback glimpses into Rick, Lori, Carl and Shane's lives prior to the Apocalypse early on, they have not done so for any other Character on the show. I don't want to just hear someone talk about something prior to the world they live in now. I would like to see them as they were prior to this new world. I think it would add a whole new element to character development being able to have those backstories / flashbacks come to life on the screen!

3.  MAKE A TRIP TO WALLYWORLD!

Why haven't they hit a Walmart Supercenter? Really? They are all over the place and have everything! (yeah I love Walmart I go there for everything just about and that would be one place I would hit in a Apocalypse! I would just like to see them start hitting up larger scale places when they go on runs, of course this long into the Apocalypse they probably missed the boat on finding much left now!

4. THE OUTBREAK NEEDS TO MORPH!

Speaking of being this long into the Apocalypse and the Walkers not being scary, it is time for this outbreak to morph into something bigger, more threatening and dangerous! The Walkers need to begin to transform with time passing into smarter and faster Walkers. They just can't drag on as these languid, doltish, easily neutralized beings. The virus needs to strengthen with time for the Walkers that have survived. If they want longevity of the series they really need to make this virus into something monumental and seemingly insuperable to the survivors. For instance as time passes the brain begins to actually regenerate in certain parts strengthening the Walkers and giving them the ability to run, jump, climb, use weapons, regain thought processes even though they would clearly have to lack moral compass and total lucidity. Small changes here and there to gradually build up the ongoing outbreak would be cause for definite longevity and continued genuine interest!

5. MEETING BASIC NEEDS SHOULD BE ON THE FOREFRONT!

Seems as time is passing they are failing to put focus on meeting basic needs. You really never see them eat, drink, clean up etc.. like you did when the show first started. You would think this far into this new world they would be having a constant daily struggle to simply meet their basic needs. Food, Water, Clothing, Hygiene, etc.. They should put more emphasis on them working hard to meet those needs to survive and show what a struggle it is becoming as time is passing.

6.  DID MOTHER NATURE GET BITTEN & SHOT IN THE HEAD?

There is a serious lack of weather conditions they must deal with. Where is the rain? Thunderstorms? Tornado? Something! I would love to see them dealing with all they are now and have to face serious weather conditions at the same time. It would certainly be interesting to see what they would do if a tornado was barreling down at them like this....

 7. WHERE HAVE ALL THE CHILDREN & HOUSE PETS GONE?

There seems to very rarely be any children or children walkers and you would think they would have some here and there. They could at least show some in the "herds" even if they wish not to continuously kill children as walkers. Also where are all the normal house pets? Did they all get eaten? Do they turn into walkers if they get bit? Seeing a normal house pet like a dog or cat somewhere and perhaps adding one to the group would be nice! I think Daryl would benefit the most from having a dog. He needs something to emotionally connect with that has no strings attached and further develop the emotional side of his character. Also how cool would it be to see a dog or cat walker?

 8. NO SEX........ PLEASE!

I would think sex would be the farthest thing from my mind in an apocalypse! While I do understand and appreciate the need for a little romp here or there, I suppose to curb the sex hungry appetites of some viewers for ratings. It is not something I need to see a lot of on The Walking Dead. I also think Glenn and Maggie have tore it up enough for everyone already! I would appreciate subtle intimacy and real affectionate human connections more.

9.  CAN WE GET SOME VARIETY PLEASE!!!

Maybe it is just me but most of the time when I see Walkers on the show they kind of all just look the same. Mostly tall, lanky, skinny, average people of the possible Caucasian persuasion.

an example
I would like to see more of a variety! Walkers should be a mix of every type of person in the world. All ages, races, heights and sizes. A mixture of some in specific career oriented apparel to those who turned in their bathrobe or a swimsuit for that matter! Kids, teenagers, adults to senior citizens!

10. CAN WE GET SOME MORE CONFLICT?

While there has been some conflict here and there, we need more. Obviously living with a group of people is taxing for anyone, but under their circumstances I could not even imagine! Conflict from small to large is warranted in a situation as theirs to further evolve each respective character. No one should be exempt from going at each other's throat over something at some point. Everyone should have a voice and use it in any given situation. That being said the conflict should be constructive for the group not destructive. Conflict will make them stronger and there would never be room for change if people did not disagree....and often in a case like this!

Daryl Dixon & Dawson Leery sniveling doppelgangers? Say it isn't so!!!!!

Wednesday, June 19, 2013 | 1 comments

Dead Deadry,

In Season 3 Episode 15 "This Sorrowful Life" of The Walking Dead, Norman Reedus who plays Daryl Dixon had a very emotional crying scene.

Now when I watched this episode and this scene I never questioned his crying or performance. Never thought anything other than "Oh my god my heart is breaking!" as I cried like an infant right along with him!

Then I watched The Talking Dead Episode 316 on which Norman Reedus appeared and he spoke about his crying being compared to that of James Van Der Beek's Character Dawson Leery from Dawson's Creek.

Yeah I was intrigued! I thought I wonder what that is all about. Being that I was never a Dawson's creek fan, never watched a single episode and had no idea what people were talking about. I decided to investigate for myself and see if this could be true!

So the question is "Are Daryl Dixon & Dawson Leery sniveling doppelgangers? "

I would say

BUT.....

That is not an insult that is a compliment! Why? Simple....whenever anyone goes into a FULL ON Ugly Oprah Cry they are the real deal!

That is some hardcore in your face sheer display of raw genuine emotion! For an actor/actress to tap into something real and pull that off on screen for the role they are playing is no less than brilliant acting!

So I say Norman Reedus, no matter what role your playing when you have to cry you continue to throw out a FULL ON Ugly Oprah Cry or in your case we will say "Pull A Dawson Creek Crying Jag" because that is what makes you so believable in the roles you play, tapping into those real emotions and.........

Emoting like a BOSS!

The Walking Dead as The Brady Bunch??? Oh yes I did!

Tuesday, June 18, 2013 | 0 comments

Dear Deadry,

I would have never thought of the Brady Bunch in correlation with The Walking Dead in anyway...

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.....................

 Then one day when The Walking Dead Collection posted this status on Facebook;

All I could think of was The Walking Dead and the Brady Bunch! Being a poet/writer at heart I had to go for it and do my rewrite of The Brady Bunch theme for The Walking Dead!

And lo and behold after doing a search today to see if anyone else had ever put these two together in anyway I found this:

Yeah I got a giggle out of that!

I wonder if anyone else has made The Walking Dead The Brady Bunch, or what about The Addam's Family, The Simpsons, The Huxtables, The Wilkersons, The Conners, or The Cunninghams!!!....oh the possibilities are endless!

How in the hell did I become a Walking Dead Addict????

Monday, June 17, 2013 | 0 comments

Dear Deadry,

I have come to the conclusion that I am indeed a Walking Dead addict! If I hear of anything related to The Walking Dead I must read it, listen to it, watch it, buy it, find it, go see it, etc.. whatever it is! I have already taken 2 road trips in the past little over a month just to take tours and visit filming locations!

How in the hell did I become a Walking Dead Addict? Thanks to my oldest son that is how!

He has been watching The Walking Dead since the first episode aired. I had bought him the DVD's of Season One and Two last Christmas. He had told me repeatedly Mom you have to watch this, you will love it!

It wasn't until Season 3 was underway he convinced me I had to watch it. BUT he refused to let me watch the new episode without watching the entire first two seasons and all the episodes of the third season I had not seen.

I popped in Season 1 and started watching that evening after dinner and stayed up almost the entire night watching episode after episode! I was already hooked!!! I continued to watch it for the next 2 days straight until I was up to the current episode, which I then had to wait an agonizing 4 days to see!

Oh yes 4 days!

I should have known then life would never be the same and I would be all consumed by this group of people thrown into a post apocalyptic world fighting to survive!

Now here I am waiting again for Season 4 to start....and this time I have to wait until OCTOBER!!!!

Yes I said until October! Shocking I know! It seems it can not get here fast enough!

I wonder if anyone else out there is as addicted as I am to The Walking Dead? If the TV holds no true meaning anymore without the anticipation of Sunday night arriving to watch The Walking Dead? and do they feel like time is going freaking backwards like I do?
